NIU D3 ANNOUNCES NEW COACH FOR 2023-24 SEASON The Northern Illinois University Hockey Club is pleased to introduce former player Justin Garr as their head coach for the D3 team next season. Garr has done it all for the Huskies over a five year playing career. His leadership will be key and he can rely on plenty of roles he has had for NIU. He has been a captain for the better part of 3 seasons. As an administrator within the club, Justin was Vice President for a year and also served as the clubs President for the 2.5 years. In addition to day to day hockey functions, Garr also spent 3 years as a representative for the hockey club on the Sports Club Budget Council. "This should be an easy transition for him," said club GM Wayne Bower, "he was basically an assistant coach in the locker room last season. His teammates respected him and will no doubt be excited to play for him".
